Welcome to Hour Life! This site was created as an outlet for me to vent about anything and everything related to mom-hood, and really, just adulting because it is hard! From being a successful professional to becoming a mostly stay-at-home-mom to a special needs child, there are way too many opportunities to develop the largest heaping serving of mom guilt with a side of some self-loathing. So, I wanted to create a space where I could express how I found peace and joy in a life where things change by the hour and we have to live for the hour.

WHY HOUR LIFE?

I love a play on words…When I create one, I feel like the most clever person on Earth!!!! (grins)

No, but seriously… An hour has become an iconic term for me. Because so much can change in one hour, so much has. From the life threatening kind in our early NICU days [read more about our NICU story here], to the life dulling ones, like a no-napped toddler on errand day. This is where an hour could mean anything, it can mean a change of plans, and surely a change of mood. But, it does not mean we have to succumb to the ticking clock. Learning to live for the hour, however things come, is how you begin to have a more meaningful life. Meaning = Joy.

An hour could change your life, think about meeting someone, learning something new, investing in something meaningful, really whatever sprinkles your donuts.

This site will have anything and everything from our life that I want to share because surely someone can relate. From late-night vent sessions, to learning a new dish, or ways for self-growth, you name it! If I live it… it will probably be here. I’m not perfect, but I do try to be the best version of myself–and have fun, definitely have fun. And, if you ask me–that is what it is all about.

In conclusion? Between these pages, we live for the hour, by the hour. Not only is this site an amazing outlet for me to express and connect with others, but it also motivates me to continue living each hour with intent (because a girl needs content!! hah).

Remember, intent -> meaning -> joy

So, please peruse Hour Life. I hope you feel heard, inspired, and amused. Hopefully enough for you to begin living for the hour, by the hour too.
